When Gutenberg releases to the wild, expected to be sometime in April, 2018, WordPress will become more accessible. While part of that is from the constant improvements being made by the WordPress Accessibility Team, the new Gutenberg editor is bringing in some impressive features that greatly improve the accessibility of content produced using WordPress.

Self-Care Still Matters When Things Are Good

I’m writing this post in a new living situation, having just started a new job contract that stabilizes my finances for at least the next year, and am generally pretty happy. Life is good. I don’t really have any complaints other than not having a dog, but that’s something I’m working on. As someone who has and still deals with depression, anxiety, and other forms of mental illness I can attest. When things are good, that’s when self-care matters the most.

Embracing Change Is A Key Aspect of Mental Health

Mental health is a tough subject. Chris Cornell’s suicide is a recent stark reminder that even those that seem to have it all can be our most vulnerable. One of the toughest parts of maintaining your mental health is embracing change. Change can be terrifying, especially for those fighting depression or bipolar disorder. I’m going to share a bit of how I’ve learned to accept and embrace change over the past few months.

What My First Tattoo Taught Me About Self-Care, Part 2: Take It Slow

A tattoo is basically a focused burn wound. It needs to be treated as such, especially at first. Like burns, you need to go slow, and minimize the amount of rubbing and scratching no matter how much it itches or stings. The same goes for self-care.
