2017 has been a year of major change in my life. Between my gender identity, divorce, and moving from a house to my parents to an apartment, I’ve dealt with a lot of upheaval. Unfortunately, much of that change has been expensive, so I’m facing a difficult decision. It’s time for one last big change.
A New Job
As of Monday, I’m joining the team at Findsome & Winmore. I’ll still be making awesome stuff for the web, and sharing my thoughts on both this blog and Impossibly Creative, I’ll just have a steady paycheck while doing it. Freelancing has been great to me, and I’ll still get to do it from time to time, but I’m putting Impossibly Creative on the backburner for a bit while the rest of my life gets sorted.
In fact, I plan to be writing a LOT more here. Whether it’s LEGO set reviews, thoughts on movies and TV, or more about my mental health and gender identity journeys, expect a steady stream of new content starting sometime in October. Speaking of which…
A New Look
Thought I haven’t written about it – shame on me – I’ve been hard at work on the Ignis Framework for a while now. I’ve been rebuilding ImpossiblyCreative.com in my free time, but with the new job I won’t need it for a bit. That’s why I’ve engaged the services of the wonderful Erin Denton yet again for an awesome custom design. Erin was responsible for IC’s design and rebrand as well as several freelance projects I’ve done. I am so excited to work with her on the new blog design which we will then launch as an open source theme on GitHub as part of the Ignis Framework rollout.
One last thing…
As I said earlier, these last few months have been really difficult. I’ve received so much support from the WordPress community that my resolve to give back has never been greater. I want to thank each and every person that reached out, gave me a lead, or helped solve a code issue. I may be changing directions, but I’m only putting Impossibly Creative on simmer. Thanks again for everything.
